I’m Thilini and I’m a self-diagnosed haberdashery hoarder!

They say the first step is admitting it, now I’ll get to the story…

My husband and I lived in London before and in order to update pieces from my wardrobe, I would go to random stores (and Amazon) and purchase material, lace, buttons and lots of spikes. In 2013, my husband and I gave up our day jobs, moved to Sri-Lanka and started our own restaurant (the dream) but since then, I never had enough time. My collection, however, did not deplete. Instead, it grew into our entire guest bedroom!

Fast forward to 2018, I’m now a stay-at-home mummy (most of the time), aspiring designer (we’ll get to that later) and (Finally) using all the knick-knacks I’ve accumulated. I thought I’d share my DIY journey (one tassel at a time) with anyone who loves to get their hands dirty and hopefully, through this journey, I can actually have a guest stay in our guest bedroom too.

Guide to the site:

Through the blog, you will find that I either reuse old items, recycle, upcycle or create something. I’ve marked each post with a ‘THH Difficulty rating’ to give you an idea of how much time it takes, most of them are ‘easy peasy’ but some are ‘tedious terry’ which just means it is more time consuming or finicky.

So use it, share it and spread the creativity!
